At Tilstock CE Primary School, we are dedicated to nurturing aspirations and inspiring our pupils for their future careers. Building on the success of our previous events, our annual Aspire Day serves as a special careers event that allows our children to meet and learn about various jobs and roles within our community.

On Wednesday 5th June, pupils and staff across the school had the fantastic opportunity to interact directly with a variety of employers. This event fostered meaningful conversations about different career paths, providing a chance for our children to be inspired and start contemplating their future professions.

We extend our gratitude to representatives from the Leisure Club at the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, the Shropshire Wildlife Trust and First Responders, Ambulance Technicians and Paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, for generously dedicating their time to support us – sharing valuable insights about their roles and answering numerous questions from our eager pupils.

Headteacher, Mrs Kaminski;  “Our Aspire Day inspires pupils by showing them a variety of professions. Meeting role models from different industries can raise aspirations, link learning to future skills, and provide insights into what various jobs entail, the skills required, and the pathway to get there. Aspire is also one of our core values here at Tilstock, to direct one’s hopes or ambitions towards achieving something, and so initiatives like this play an important part in encouraging our pupils to ‘shine bright and reach for the stars’. Many thanks to the organisations who came along to support us – it really does have a positive impact on our pupils.”
