Learning

At Tilstock CE Primary School, we recognise that an effective curriculum should be tailored to the specific needs and vulnerabilities of individual children, including children who are victims of abuse, and children with SEND.  Personal development for the pupils.

We believe that the most effective preventative is a whole-school approach that prepares children for life in modern Britain. The school’s values of Respect, Nurture, Hope, Joy, Achieve and Aspire are upheld and demonstrated throughout all aspects of school life.  Our Daily Worship provides regular opportunity to discuss topics and model the language we use.  These are further underpinned by the school’s behaviour policy and pastoral support system, and reinforced by a planned programme of Personal Social and Health Education.  Relevant topics will be included within our Relationships and Sex Education curriculum ensures that relevant topics are included and have regard to statutory guidance.

This whole-school approach is fully inclusive and developed to be age and stage of development appropriate, and will tackle (in age appropriate stages) issues such as: Healthy and respectful relationships, Body confidence and self-esteem, safety and the changing body.
