Kinetic Letters
Last term, we introduced the Kinetic Letters® handwriting programme. The programme uses four main threads: making bodies stronger, learning the letters, holding the pencil, and flow and fluency, to enable children to develop legible handwriting that is produced quickly and automatically.
Every class in school takes part in a Kinetic Letters lesson every day, which focuses on letter formation. Body strength and pencil grip are continuously reinforced throughout the school day in every lesson.
In Owen class before we broke up, the pupils were practicing their writing lying on their tummies; we call this our strong lizard position. This will make our bodies stronger for writing!
