Pupils inspired by Scientific Careers
At Tilstock we feel it’s important for children to understand science as real life, real people and real problems.
As part of #ScienceWeek, we were delighted to welcome two parents into school where science plays a vital role in their work. Skye Rolphe visited classes to tell the children all about her fantastic career as a midwife and how science helps her do her very important job. Meanwhile Emma Portas brought in a beautiful and very clever black Labrador, Sirius – a scent detection dog, who has such a clever sense of smell he can detect dangerous substances to help members of the public.
The children were so inspired, and this also helped them to understand how important science is, and make the link as to how science is so vital in our world and future careers.
