Art Club… Tigers & Copper Panels
Art Club have been busy over the past couple of weeks. They have been inspired by the jungle paintings of a French post-impressionist painter called Henri Rousseau. The children have been learning to use a variety of media including oil pastel, watercolour paint and collage to create different effects as seen in the tiger pictures.
More recently, the children have been extending their topic theme of ‘Magical Monarchy’ and have created portraits of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. They focussed on using a limited range of colours for effect and experimented with creating textures. They have also looked at the work of Arts and Crafts artists William Morris, William De Morgan and John Pearson – who was a copper worker. The children then created their own embossed copper panel. Well done Art Club!
